.By the 1960's, a small number of surfing manufactures had started building skateboards
. In march 1976, skateboard City skate park in Port Orange, Florida and Carlsbad skate park in San Diego county, California would be the first two skate parks open to the public
.Skateboard styles have changed dramatically since the 1970's, but have not changed much since the 1990's
.By the 2000's, skateboarding had grown so much that more people under years old skateboarded ( 10.6 mil.) than played baseball ( 8.2 mil.)
